These Engineering Equipment Operator positions are located in the Maintenance Division at Acadia National Park.
Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. Annually, you will work from approximately early February through early November and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
Duties
Incumbent must possess and maintain a CDL Commercial Driver's License and submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
Operate gas and diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment, large industrial tractors with several different attachments. Operate grader, dump trucks and dump trailers, end loader, dozer, boom, and snowplow.
Load, secure, and haul materials and equipment to and from project sites using truck and trailer. Use equipment to cut, move, dig, grade earth, debris, sand, stone, and other materials. Maintain ditches, road shoulders and beds.
Equipment will be operated on varied terrain, including paved and unpaved road surfaces, as well as flat or rolling terrain.
Use hand and power tools, chippers, chainsaws, and serve as flagger.
All work is performed following established safety protocols and use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT): Ability to perform the most difficult and complex engineering equipment operator duties. Have worked as an engineering equipment operator performing operation of bulldozers, road graders, backhoes, front- end loader, 50 plus horsepower tractors with attachments, snowplows, sand/salt spreaders and dump trucks ranging from 26,001 to 60,000 GVW with air brakes on uneven terrain and narrow winding roads.

Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
