About the Position: This position is located in North Las Vegas, NV.

Duties

Serves as the S-8 Budget Officer for the assigned Recruiting Brigade (BDE), for the US Army Recruiting Command (USAREC). Plans, directs, and coordinates the budgetary functions of the BDE and its associated Battalions (BNs). Develops, justifies, and executes budget based upon program plans, available resources, and sound knowledge of operational requirements, mission, and expenses required. Budget work supports the total BDE/BN programs and mission.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • You may be required to obtain a FM Level II certification.
  • You may be required to complete a Supervisory Probationary Period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a wide range of analytical and technical advisory functions related to the budgetary process such as, but not limited to, performing budget adjustments, determining appropriations to be charged, and/or ensuring budget submissions meet requirements, guidelines, and management objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget ExecutionBudget Formulation, Justification, and PresentationFinancial Management AnalysisLeadership Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
