You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the CURRENT OPERATIONS DIVISION, SECURITY DEPARTMENT of STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY PACIFIC. This is a RE-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number: ST-12575917-24-JEH. Applicants that have previously applied NEED to re-apply to this announcement.

Duties

You will facilitate, coordinate and direct a specialized security staff to ensure constant compliance with established security requirements in order to deny unauthorized access to strategic weapons. You will analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, identify requirements, and make appropriate recommendations to principal staff and Commanding Officer on matters involving security. You will coordinate security goals and objectives for security drills with the Security Officer and the Security Force Battalion to assess the effectiveness of training and determine the readiness of security forces. You will brief the Commanding Officers on a regular basis regarding the effectiveness of current security operations as well as operational schedules that may impact the normal security posture and security operations. You will provide effective and continuous coordination and communication with Security to ensure seamless integration between future requirements and current execution of security goals and objectives. You will attend, plan, conduct, and facilitate meetings with internal and external managers and to help formulate departmental as well as command-level information security status, improvement plans, and strategies. You will coordinate and approve facility projects, power outages, and contracted work to deconflict operational schedules and identify security requirements that may be necessary to ensure all security standards are met. You will facilitate, organize, and coordinate the communications and Electronic Security Systems (ESS) requirements for security to ensure uninterrupted communications, surveillance, and monitoring services to Security Force personnel. You will analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, identify requirements, and make appropriate recommendations for future communications and ESS needs to required security planners and principal staff members. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust short term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. You will identify training needs and providing or arranging for development, makes decisions on non-routine, costly or controversial training needs and training requests related to employees of the unit.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certificate (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, identify requirements, and make appropriate recommendations for current and future security policy, procedures, and training related to Weapons Security Programs.
