About the Position: This position is located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with the Directorate of Missile and Aerospace Readiness (DMAR).
Duties
Perform electrical/electronic testing, troubleshooting, and modification of air and missile defense systems.
Perform decanning, mechanical disassembly/assembly, and cleaning of missile assemblies.
Install assemblies at test stations and perform computer-controlled testing.
Transport missile components from storage areas to test areas.
Provide recommendations for resolving operating conditions or system problems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Business travel/temporary duty (TDY) may be required up to 15% of the time.
- Mobility Agreement required to assigned areas world-wide to support the mission.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968; persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible.
- Ammunition certification in accordance with AMC-R 350-4 is required within one year of appointment.
- Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Screening in accordance with AR 190-11 required initially and annually.
- Pre-employment and annual physical examinations required.
- Position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
- Position requires the incumbent to maintain a state driver’s license.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) performing electrical and electronic testing and troubleshooting of missile systems; 2) isolating defects of test equipment and repairing or replacing components; and 3) preparing computer test data for electronic transmission to a central data bank. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
