This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST), Position Description Number D2161000 and is part of the 105TH AW, National Guard.
This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
Duties
As a Security Specialist (Training Specialist), GS-0080-09, you will serve as the subject matter expert in managing the SF Squadron program to include Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployments, formal training programs, and readiness and emergency management. Provides guidance and recommendations to the squadron commander on all aspects of SF programs for military personnel management, budget and management analysis, training, and training resources for drill-status personnel.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- For Dual-Status Technician positions service affiliation under Title 32 USC 709 is required.

- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications
Military Grades: Enlisted Only
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Must have knowledge of commonly used methods, procedures, regulations, and other guides that relate to training programs within the United States AF, ANG, and SF career field. Must have experience in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems. Must be experience in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security training programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security-training program for the installation. Must have experience forecasting and submitting Deployment For Training requirements in coordination with SF commander to ANG NGB/A7. Must have experience coordinating with the financial management section for quarterly allocations and adjustments.
