Duties

You will responsible for managing all responsibilities of Shop 32. You will assign work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. You will supervise and manage complex work assignments and workforce to ensure emergency, urgent, and preventive maintenance as well as assigned project work is performed on schedule and within resource constraints. You will oversee/provide Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) for maintenance materials and supplies. You will review work orders and progress in completing work, examines all areas where work is to be accomplished, and takes such factors into account to determine if planned schedules can be met.

  • This position is subject to physical strain and cramped positions in and around equipment and hard to reach locations.
  • This position is a mix of indoor and outdoor activity.
  • You will be occasionally exposed to bad weather, extreme temperatures, poisonous chemicals, infection, unpleasant odors, polluted water, and hard to reach work sites.
  • This position may travel to work sites that are hot, dusty or noisy, and which may use oils or chemicals in work operations that present various hazards.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
