This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring Information and physical security program; contributes and performs Security briefings and analyze official data prior to public release and develops security instructions and contributes to Information Security program and reviews contracts and statements of work.
Duties
As a SECURITY SPECIALIST at the GS-0080-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Develop and promulgates security related policies for the assigned regional area of responsibility
Provides guidance, advice, and responds to a variety of issues and complex problems related to security disciplines.
Serves as a Security Specialist establishing and monitoring the Information Security Program through the development of instructions, procedures and policies.
Coordinate and synchronize all activities of the OPSEC program, working with DSCA HQ to achieve mission success for the agency.
Plans, develops, and implements security procedures based on policies and procedures to ensure that classified material is received, transmitted, handled, stored, and accounted for from the time of receipt until dispatched, returned, or destroyed.
Works closely with DSCA HQ's security specialist to ensure that security training and program management meet all legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Maintaining and monitoring Information and physical security program; contributes and performs Security briefings and analyze official data prior to public release and develops security instructions and contributes to Information Security program and reviews contracts and statements of work.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
