You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the MARINE AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER (MCAGCC) of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.
Duties
You will perform maintenance, modification, repair, rebuild, inspection, service, and overhaul of a wide range of Military Tactical Equipment.
You will perform maintenance, repair and inspection on a variety of interconnected systems.
You will use a wide variety of test procedures, special test equipment, and support equipment in tracing hard-to-locate problems.
You will complete major repairs, overhauls, utilize advanced test and diagnostics equipment and perform modifications with little or no technical advice.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. You may be required to work in tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods of time.
- You will be required to frequently lifts and carry items, unassisted, weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds), and often exert similar effort in pushing, pulling, and positioning parts, assemblies, and equipment.
- You may be required to work on top of, under, and in tight compartments of military equipment in cramped or awkward positions. The employee performs strenuous work while standing, lying, crawling, or sitting.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final non-sensitive security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- The incumbent is responsible for the accountability of tools that are issued to them. Misuse of Government IT systems/property is cause for disciplinary action, including removal.
Qualifications

Types of equipment include: Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP), High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), Logistic Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR), Assault Amphibious Vehicle (AAV), Light Armored Vehicle (LAV), Tractors, Bulldozers, Forklifts, Cranes, Sweepers, Graders, Firefighting Trucks, Trailers, Rough Terrain Container Handler, Backhoe, Utility Units/Systems, Loaders, Compactors, etc. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
