The purpose of this position is to assist the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Program in providing mental health services to individuals, families and communities. This position is located at the Chinle Service Unit, Clinical Services, Chinle, Arizona.
Duties
Exercises mature judgement using a wide range of therapeutic skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients and their family who present with problem and management of acute and chronic mental illness with patients of all ages.
Provides community-based, integrated treatment plans and furnishes continuing clinical services to patients and families.
Provides Navajo and English interpretation for clients, patients and general community to answer questions regarding services, scheduling and assists providers.
Works with other health technicians and psychologists.
Assists in organizing and working with the health/community teams to plan, develop and implement integrated behavioral health programs that meet the needs of the public in the service area.
Participates in departmental quality monitoring and performance improvement activities, planning, data collection and
reporting.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Providing limited assistance in conducting comprehensive assessments with each client. Independently preparing and giving interpretation of patient case studies and psychosocial history for physicians, health care providers, and community social services. Ensuring that referrals made are completed. Assisting in developing and implementing integrated behavioral health programs. Planning effective mental health promotion and chronic disease prevention programs. Recognizing disease processes and illnesses

One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7.
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
