Duties
As a Budget Analyst you will:
Perform complex budget development, formulation and/or execution functions for substantive agency programs or administrative budget areas.
Work with managers and program specialists in the development of annual work plans and schedules for the execution of approved budgets.
Review, analyze, and interpret existing and proposed legislation, appropriation language, executive orders, and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars and bulletins.
Provide expert advice and recommendations for budgetary actions.
Develop cost-benefit analysis of proposed budgetary and program actions and advise agency officials and program managers of most advantageous courses of action.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: formulating, planning, and executing program funding/budgets; and identifying issues and providing recommendations for resolution.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
