About the Position: This position is located with the Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Moore, GA. Incumbent will perform a variety of tasks involved with the upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, utilities, and equipment.

Duties

Perform repairs on a variety of systems that provide for heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, cleaning, filtering and/or circulating. Estimate material requirements such as pipes, fittings, and fixtures in the sizes, types, and/or lengths needed. Repair damaged sections, fittings, and fixtures of plumbing, electrical, or heating, ventilation, and air condition parts. Maintain tools and accessories such as sharpening saws, scrapers, and paint brushes Transport personnel, materials, equipment, trash, and water throughout the project site and public roads.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
• This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
• Lifting up to 90 pounds may be required.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

I can load cargo into trucks or van for transport. Requirements for standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Requires considerable walking, standing on concrete floors, and climbing stairways and ladders. Light-to-moderate effort is used to turn valves and controls. Works in stretched, cramped and awkward positions. Considerable standing while working on ladders or scaffolds. Working Conditions: Works inside and outside in all kinds of weather. Comes in contact with running motors, pumps, and machinery, Cuts, bruises, and broken bones may result from accidents. Subject to possible injury from vehicle accident. Works in cramped quarters inside and outside; exposed to mud and water; dirty, dusty and greasy conditions and injury from use of power and hand tools and occasional use of caustic soda and hot lead.
