Duties
You will provide guidance on sampling, collecting, processing, testing, reporting and analysis of potable water systems, wastewater systems and storm water systems.
You will be responsible for monitoring the base potable water system, the base wastewater system and the base storm water system to ensure conformance to the associated programs.
You will be responsible for the preparation, content review, all QA and QC, and the signing of all reports to regulating agencies related to water, wastewater and storm water compliance issues.
You will evaluate the results of laboratory testing of samples to determine their validity and significance.
You will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual review of NPDES permits.
You will be responsible for the new anti-corrosive program for control of lead, copper and other potential water contaminants, and compliance strategies for landfill contamination disposal issues.
You will coordinate with the local Environmental agency on the disposal of bio-solid waste, site visits to water and wastewater facilities to inspect for proper maintenance and upkeep.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing guidance on sampling, collecting, processing, testing, reporting and analysis of potable water systems, wastewater systems and storm water systems.

Education
This is a positive education position. The Basic Requirements for this position are as follows:

Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.
OR
- Combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Applicants can qualify for this position through education substitution in lieu of specialized experience. To qualify through education in addition to meeting the basic education requirements above, applicant must possess:
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree
or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
