This position is part of the, The National Mediation Board. The incumbent will be responsible for daily operation of entering all case information in thecase management system for the Office of Arbitration Services.
Duties
Review Notices of Intent for pertinent information, draft and disseminate accurate acknowledgment letters to respective parties and process party submissions in accordance with established procedures.
Docket cases for hearing, draft and disseminate hearing notices and proofread proposed awards before final adoption.
Monitor due dates and generate arbitrator non-compliance reports for the Director of Arbitration Services.
Distribute final Awards in accordance with National Railroad Adjustment Board (NRAB) rules and make them accessible via the NMB Knowledge Store.
Assist with Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC) compliance reviews, research official documents, and compile data for the MD 715 Report and Form 462.
Supports other departments during peak activity.
Qualifications
At the GS-11 level, you must meet one of the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes experience entering information daily into a case management system, and assisting in compiling data for annual report and budget submissions. Generating case handling reports; administering a docket of cases and funds; including the number and type of disputes and number of cases closed. Assist with background information for Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
compliance reviews, research official documents, and compiles statistical data for the MD 715 Report and Form 462.
OR
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if in a related field;
OR
A Combination of education and experience as list above.
Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
