The Medical Administrative Officer position is located in the Office of Community Care Department at the Newington, CT location. This position is a full-time at 40 hours per week.

Duties

Provide supervision for employees responsible for clinical care coordination and financial and administrative work in the support of the VA Community Care. Discuss, investigate, and respond to employees grievances and dissatisfactions to resolve conflicts. Provision and oversight of an annual multi million-dollar budget which includes budget formulation, justification, and financial reporting. Prepare, review, and submit budget estimates to executive leadership. Responsible in developing and coordinating internal review systems to assure that both clinical and administrative activities are in compliance with agency and accrediting and regulatory requirements. Provide for full administration of reporting, evaluation, and fee requirements associated with the accreditation of the organization. Develop both long and short-range policies and plans by coordination the needs of VA Community care for the medical center. Provide planning and direction for the Care in the Community. Identify needs and potential issues/concerns and devises flexibilities in operation and constructive, cost-effective approaches to the resolution of problems. Establish minimum standards for quality and productivity. Direct program implementation. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday. Hours 8:00am- 4:30pm. Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/15/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Specialized experience may include: working with health care registration processes and information, coordinating multiple tasks, analyzing patient and hospital information, coordinating care with clinical services in and outside the hospital, overseeing a large budget and personnel correction, supervising a large medical administration section.
