This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics Operations (OSFLO), Facilities & Logistics Management Group (FLMG).
As a Transportation Specialist, GS-2101-13, you will manage and coordinate a variety of transportation functions that involves one or more phases of property management, inventory, acquisition, and innovation.
Duties
Serves as the primary contact for all transportation inventory and operations.
Ensures compliance with transportation directives and regulations pertaining to services, and related travel and administrative duties.
Plans, organizes, controls, integrates, and evaluates the work of transportation programs by ensuring operations are in compliance with federal, state, and local statutes, rules, and regulations.
Researches transportation policy and regulations to provide specific and accurate information to customers.
Develops recommendations on project scope, schedule, or cost changes for contractual actions involving CMS transportation.

In order to qualify for the GS-13 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) managing transportation operations and complex functions, analyzing transportation laws and regulations; and (2) recommending new processes and policies to streamline and/or automate transportation operations; and (3) supporting the fleet management, acquisition and maintenance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
COR Level II certification must be obtained within 12 months of hiring and maintained thereafter.
