About the Position: This is a PERMANENT Training Administrator position with U.S. Army Central, G37 Training Section at Shaw Air Force Base, SC.
Duties
Serves as Training and Battle staff Subject matter expert in the G37 Training Branch of Training and Exercise Division.
Serves as the functional staff expert on institutional and individual training programs within a deployable command headquarters and major policy-making organization.
Develops training plans, develops and maintains the Command training events calendar, and writes Programs of Instruction (POIs), such as Staff Orientation Course and others.
Ensures the Command creates the most effective and efficient objectives regarding individual training requirements for the entire force structure.
Acts as an authoritative consultant develops and implements special projects to improve procedures, answer internal, external, and higher headquarters inquiries, or correct a deficiency affecting the overall education and individual training mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Secret security clearance required.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 10% of the time required.
- This position is designated as Key.
- One-year probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) demonstrating a practical knowledge as an operational manager with expertise in planning, budgeting, and execution of an education and training program; 2) implementing new or modified programs; 3) analyzing and improving procedures to correct deficiency affecting overall training mission; and 4) developing policies and procedures that govern the command's training program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
