Duties
Incumbent performs a wide variety of technical support duties and related clerical duties in a program with the function of providing family advocacy related training to law enforcement personnel.
Applies a practical knowledge of training operations and a specific knowledge of family law enforcement program requirements to project and implement necessary support functions.
Provide a broad range of training support services in the Behavioral Science training subject area.
Assist course managers and/or instructors in planning and other administrative aspects of management of the division activities by serving as a DTMS administrator.
Assist with course preparation by acting as Test Control Officer in order to receive and deliver testing materials.
Prepare in final form all types of documentation and forms incident to office management.
Collect and maintain statistics for the division; gather information and prepare quarterly and annual reports for TRADOC, DA, and DOD.
Maintain classroom and training areas ensuring maintenance requests are initiated and completed in a timely manner.
Receive calls, greet visitors, and direct to supervisor or other staff members only those contacts needing their attention or action.
Compose correspondence on administrative support or clerical functions of the office.
Receive and review incoming mail for the organization and directs to appropriate staff members for action.
Operate computer to input data to data bases, spreadsheets, etc. and/or to produce final typed material.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A fully qualified typist (40 wpm) is required.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is required approximately 20% of the duty time.
- Pre-employment physical required. Position may also require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination. Heavy physical lifting of items up to and including 75 pounds will be required.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative and/or technical support to a training function including preparing correspondence, scheduling training, maintaining calendars, arranging and processing travel requests, purchasing and managing organizational supplies and equipment. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
