About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQDA G-2 Stable Shadows Program in Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Serves as 525th Military Intelligence Brigade Command Language Program Manager (CLPM) responsible for integrating all aspects of the language training program into 525th MI Brigade collective training and readiness programs. Provides technical oversight and policy interpretation for subordinate CLPMs at all Major Subordinate Commands (MSC). Inspects subordinate units to ensure compliance with AR 11-6 (Army Foreign Language Program) and 11-2 (Internal Controls). Interprets, applies and adapts national, departmental, and military service policy regulations and guidance. Uses initiative, judgment, and resourcefulness to successfully apply a wide variety of language training and budget management principles and policies. Ensures the successful development and management of innovative strategies and plans in response to language training requirements. Serves as the Language Program Manager (CLPM) IAW AR 11-6 responsible for the policy, programming, and oversight of 292 language dependent Soldiers assigned to four FORSCOM installations. Serves as the Language Program TALP (The Army Language Program) budget manager. Conducts biennial inspections of brigade subordinate units command language programs IAW AR 11-2 and 11-6.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two-year trial period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Duties may require performance of rotating and/or irregular shifts, weekend or holiday duty, and overtime, especially during periods of crisis or exercise.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
