About the Position: This position is located at the Office of the Commanding General at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. FLW is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Assigns, tasks, and provides guidance to staff offices in response to urgent and routine requests for information and recommendations on issues of operations, current events strategy and plans, and command and control.
Ensures that Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE) command projects are managed properly and completed in a timely manner while monitoring continuity and quality of actions.
Provides guidance for the coordination of efforts and events to ensure that all resources are utilized properly and ensures that there is no duplication of effort and that all of the agency’s requirements are satisfied.
Completes projects and studies, which require knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations.
Plans, coordinates, and executes the conduct of visits to the MSCoE by distinguished visitors, foreign delegations, officials from federal, state, and local government, and various community representatives.
Serves as an aide to the Commander, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, Secretary of the General Staff, and staff officers on both technical and administrative matters.
Serves as action officer and is responsible for the oversight of a variety of actions which are characterized by unique requirements which demand continuous oversight and provides administrative coordination for staff actions and correspondence.
Assists with planning, developing, and supervising the execution of detailed visitor itineraries.
Develops and maintains close association and sound working relationships with higher headquarters, to keep abreast of issues and concerns that may impact issues affecting the organization.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes performing, coordinating and planning the development of reports, analyzing programs, and providing information to management, responding to inquiries from staff and outside organizations, and with the analysis of requirements, guidance, tracking, administration, quality control and assessment of response for all staff and coordination actions required to fulfill MSCoE mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
