As an Supervisory General Attorney (Civil Rights) at the GS-0905-15, you will be part of Office of Federal Operations, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for directing, assigning, reviewing, planning, and supervising the work of the Staff. This includes the analysis and review of appeals from agency decisions on employment discrimination complaints and the preparation of Commission decisions on such appeals.
Duties
Determines the program goals of the staff, the resource needs and allocation of resources, coordinates the legal staff program efforts with higher supervisors and other offices in the agency.
Sets policies and standards for the office staff determining program emphasis and operating guidelines.
Provides overall review of cases transmitted to the division by the Control Unit of the Office of Federal Operations.
Plans and directs the preparation of decisions on appeals to the Commission with respect to charges of employment discrimination.
Acts as liaison to keep staff members informed of new policies and procedures concerning processing appeals to the Commission.
Requirements

- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
- Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
- Must have an Active BAR Membership in Good Standing. If selected, must maintain active bar membership in good standing while employed as an attorney with EEOC
- This position is in the Excepted Service
Qualifications
For the GS-15:You must have earned a professional law degree (J.D. or LL.B.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, be an active member of the BAR, and have four (4) years of professional legal experience with at least one year being equivalent to the GS-14 level.
Professional legal education above the first professional law degree may be substituted for experience required as follows:(a) The second professional law degree (LL.M) may be substituted for one year of experience (b) The third law degree (J.S.D) may be substituted for one year of experience beyond the LL.M.
