About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force & Coast Guard meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services. Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces.
Duties
Provide routine technical assistance or training to users of automated personnel database systems.
Coach, facilitate, resolve work problems and participate in the work of the MEPS Processing Element.
Provide input to supervisor on performance, progress, and training needs of employees, and on disciplinary problems.
Perform Human Resources Assistant duties identical to those led.
Certifies that enlistment has been properly conducted by verifying system displayed contract is complete and all additional disclosed information has been supplied to the service representative.
Greet applicants, track enrollment, movement and processing progress.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security background check.
- This position may require incumbent to work an occasional Saturday and/or shift work (work before 0600 or after 1800 hours).
- This position will routinely require incumbent to work unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in workload based on the daily mission requirements.
- This position will require incumbent to successfully complete the Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required to access the MHS GENESIS System.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Providing administrative support to a Reception-Administration Control Desk; Questioning applicants to obtain and/or verify complete data required for final data processing of forms records for entry into the organization; Performing records management of electronic and paper applicant records; Entering data in automated system(s) to record applicant processing information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
