You will serve as a TOOLS AND PARTS ATTENDANT for the NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will determine the basis for over, short, or misplaced items by checking inventories and references. You will assign work to tools and parts employees by written or oral instructions. You will evaluate individual requests to determine which item to issue. You will coordinate with a supply department for procurement of urgently needed materials. You will report hazards, malfunctioning equipment, damaged materials, or other situations that may impact work operations or the safety of others.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • The position often requires irregular hours.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.
  • This position requires evening and weekend work.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to pass a Pulmonary Function Test
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Organizing tools/equipment and storing hazardous materials in accordance with instructions; 2) Assisting with the completion of assigned team projects, such as inventories or product evaluations; and 3) Reporting work in progress and any causes for delay to Supervisor.
