Duties
This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG).

Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Qualifications
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e., Airman, civilian, active-duty Soldier, prior service, guard member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the Recruiting and Retention (R&R) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2015 or 2008 and request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRARNG, your application will not be screened.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

DUTIES:
As a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER (D1143000), WG-5413-8, you will operate and maintain a fuel distribution system composed of bulk storage, hydrant-refueling system, or a tanker truck operation used to perform ground refueling of aviation aircraft. The function utilizes a bulk storage fuel farm to store one or more types of aviation fuel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Exerts light to moderate physical effort while performing operations such as coupling and uncoupling equipment. Seldom lifts over 50 pounds, but work requires considerable standing, walking, bending, working in cramped conditions, and climbing on tanks, rigging, and other equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Most of the work is performed outside in all kinds of weather or where protection is usually limited to building extensions, tarpaulins, and storage shed roofs. Follows safety regulations and uses safety equipment and precautions to avoid danger from fumes, flames, and explosions or to avoid slipping or falling from equipment.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year in the occupational series 5413 or the equivalent TWELVE (12) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as operation and maintenance of an aviation fuels storage and fuels facility; operating a complex workstation or portion of a large fuel distribution system; operating various types of pumps used to load, unload, and transfer fuel oils and gasoline; operating one or more relatively routine work stations and demonstrating skill in manipulating a few controls to regulate the flow of the liquids in a safe and efficient manner; maintain records of fuel transfers, load and unload; gauging tanks using plumb bob and scale, before, during, and at the end of fuel operation; manipulate numerous controls to properly regulate the flow of the liquids in a safe and efficient manner.
