You will serve as a INDSTRIAL HYGIENE SUPPORT ASSISTANT in the Naval Hospital Jacksonville Industrial Hygiene. Directorate for Public Health or facility naval Branch Health Clinic of NMRTC JACKSONVILLE FL.
Duties
You will receive calls, greet visitors, and directs to staff members only those contacts needing their attention or action, taking care of routing matters, refers other inquiries to appropriate personnel.
You will maintain files and records such as industrial hygiene survey files, equipment inventory files, department training files, and logs showing the status of recruiting actions and correspondence.
You will manage the Industrial Hygiene Reference System, maintaining the reference library including occupational health compliance standards, Safety Data Sheets, industrial hygiene reference manuals, professional publications, command regulations.
You will prepare in final form all types of documentation and forms incident to department administration and office management, preparing travel requests and all associated actions and documentation.
You will monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in and reviewing completed work to see that the Industrial Hygiene Department Head’s instruction on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met.
You will order supplies and equipment for the office, complete appropriate requisition forms, searching supply catalogs and references to obtain supply data such as stock number, nomenclature, unit of issue, and price.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- May be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Entering data into software programs.
Maintaining office supplies.
Professional knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts, principles and practices
Composing and reviewing correspondence for spelling, arrangement, grammar, and required formats.
Maintaining filing systems and disposition according to records management policies.
Operating computer and programs such as: Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook and able to construct/maintain databases.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successfully completed four years of education above high school level.
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
