About the Position: This position is a Fabric Worker, WG-3105-04, position with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center located in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Perform duties involving simple and routine techniques to size, issue, fit, exchange, and classify all clothing bag items utilizing the total spectrum of tariff -size clothing bags items meeting the Army's approved concept of fit.
Inspect clothing articles to ensure they are free of defects.
Maintain all sizes of clothing articles in bin stock and provide on hand balances to supervisors.
Provide professional and caring customer service at all times.
Follow regulatory guidance in determining proper fit of the items on individuals by visual observation and/or touch.
Measure individuals and mark necessary alterations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 60 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Fabric Worker~ without more than normal supervision. Perform the common measuring and fitting of clothing items. Inspect clothing items to ensure they are free of defects. Apply written instructions and regulatory guidance to ensure that alterations meet proper fit guidelines; and perform inventories of items. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Incumbent performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally required to lift and carry heavier, bulkier items weighing up to 60 pounds.
Working Conditions: Works in an enclosed area that is adequately lighted, ventilated, and heated. Work may be dirty and dusty. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and noise from sewing machines. Subject to strains and injury from lifting and handling heavy stock.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
