Duties

This position will allow you to use your expertise in implementing Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorist (C-TPAT) policies, and analyzing and resolving difficult security problems affecting international commerce. This position starts at a salary of $126,916.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $164,993.00 (GS-14, Step 10) . Apply for this exciting opportunity to improve the security and integrity of the global supply chain. Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing operational data through a security validation process of public trade entities associated with the program Developing and implementing CBP policies and procedures; and analyzes and resolves difficult national security issues impacting international trade and commerce Reviewing work plans developed by subordinates and subsequently coordinates the overall work to enhance achievement of the goals and objectives Resolving complex or controversial importing and exporting issues, conducting in-depth studies, analyzing trade operations and programs, and developing and implementing guidance on national security issues affecting international commerce Actively participating in high level meetings, conferences and working groups at various classification levels, as applicable, for purposes of assessing and reviewing C-TPAT operations NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 11/14/2024. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
