About the Position: Carlisle Barracks is an installation at the center of the Army and Department of Defense Senior Leadership educational programs. This historic post supports missions such as the U.S. Army War College, (including the Center for Strategic Leadership, Strategic Studies Institute and USAWC Press, U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center), and Department of Health Agency, Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, and the Installation Management Command.

Duties

Serve as Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commandant, US Army War College Responsible for planning, analyzing and executing actions involving the direction and control of general administrative management functions Maintain Deputy Commandant's schedule/appointments Receive visitors and telephone calls; refer visitors/calls to appropriate staff members Assist Deputy Commandant in arranging social functions Control incoming/outgoing correspondence, to include unclassified and classified Compose routine correspondence Act as liaison between student leadership and institution administrators

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • May be required to complete a one year probationary period.
