About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Duties

Plan, direct, coordinate, and review of all Traffic Management functions that effect worldwide movement of personal property and personnel for members (military and civilian) of the Department of Defense. Interpret travel authorizations pertaining to entitlements for travel and movement of personnel and dependents upon Permanent Change of Station (PCS). Direct counseling activities which provide information on entitlements, responsibilities, and service requirements. Provide authoritative transportation guidance to customers on policy and entitlements for personal duty travel and all types of transportation activities. Oversee the inspection of carriers/contractors during preparation and loading of household goods for compliance with applicable regulations, specifications and/or tariffs, to include inspection of documentation, packing materials, and methods. Plan and assign work to subordinates; evaluate work performance of subordinates; and establish deadlines and priorities based on the workflow. Serve as technical advisor and assist in verifying and monitoring administration and performance of the contractor providing official and unofficial travel services to the installation. Use a variety of surveillance techniques to validate contractor compliance, verify that travelers’ schedules and mission needs are met, and that most cost-effective fares and rates are obtained.
