About the Position: U.S. Army Forces Command, XVIII ABN CORPS HQ Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Fort Liberty is a culturally diverse area with rural and city populations, co-located at Fayetteville, NC centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, which enjoys a temperate year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. Fayetteville is centrally located between the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.

Duties

Serves as a technical advisor to the organization for all Financial Management end-user systems access requests. Provides both technical and functional advice/resolution to inquiries from end user on accounting and financial system functions. Provides quarterly quality assurance and internal management control analysis for financial management end-user access. Monitors progress of Helpdesk tickets and evaluates the resolution of the outcomes. Interpret financial documents to recommend solutions to complex problems. Prepares a variety of reports covering the status of funds, expenses and obligations, as required by the Corps G8 and higher headquarters. Performs Joint Reviews (JRP) to review, evaluate, and recommend improvements to accounting procedures, report, and financial services.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes :Analytical skills to identify and compare financial program actions to determine appropriate recommendations on financial management operations. Provide guidance on financial policies and requirements with specific emphasis on government accounting systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position,. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accounting OperationsFinancial AnalysisFinancial Management Systems Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
