You will serve as a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER in the FACILITIES SUSTAINMENT DIVISION of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
Duties
You will perform all leader type duties and lead journeyman workers per normal procedures and work guides.
You will work from instructions such as work orders, pre-repair inspection reports, user reports, standing operating procedures, or oral instructions.
You will examine, check, and test the systems and equipment; determine the repairs needed; inform a supervisor of any extensive changes; and complete approved work in accordance with existing guidelines and instructions.
You will guide lower-graded systems mechanics to educate them on the procedures and techniques for safe maintenance processes.
You will troubleshoot powered support systems and components (e.g., engines, generators, gears, compressors) to determine needed repairs.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

1) Providing work direction including technical and administrative support to meet operational efficiency; 2) Monitoring and reporting progress of work operations, equipment requirements and adjusting schedules as needed to meet organizational deadlines; 3) Troubleshooting, overhauling, rebuilding and making comparable major repairs to highly complex powered support systems including the major components such as engines, generators, alternators, compressors, gear-trains, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components; 4) Diagnosing and locating malfunctions and replacing related equipment such as sensors, batteries, gauges, contactors, related, lubricants and coolants; 5) Recording gauge readings and monitoring generators during operations in order to maintain safe and efficient parameter and make adjustments as necessary of all units on line with the electrical distribution system.***NOTE: This experience must be fully and clearly supported in your resume.
