You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Public Affairs Office of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY CRANE.
Duties
You will provide public affairs guidance to the commanding officer and staff on internal and external news media/social media and community outreach relations.
You will manage information on the command's public website and maintains and monitors the command's official external presences (Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites. )
You will coordinate special programs, events, and ceremonies, including publicity, pamphlets, brochures, exhibits and coordinates news media coverage of internal events
You will write articles, speeches and presentations for the commanding officer.
You will advise commanding officer on policies and procedures designed to stimulate good will and to foster good community relations.
You will maintain solid working relationships with civic groups and community leaders.
You will provide commanding officer with protocol support enhancing public support and opinion.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting public affairs policies and instructions; 2) Maintaining official websites, social media accounts, and/or content management systems for public affairs information dissemination; 3) Writing speeches, news articles, and/or briefs to disseminate information; and 4) Coordinating internal personnel and resources for participation in community relations events.
