Duties
Duties will be developmental in nature when the position is filled below the full performance level.
Serves as Work Leader by providing individual and team training in specific tasks and job techniques, and provides on the-
job training in accordance with established procedures and practices.
Performs comprehensive reviews on a wide variety of documentation/forms/records to validate debts to the US.
Resolves simple, informal complaints of employees and refers other to supervisor.
Provides information to the supervisor as requested concerning promotions, reassignment, recognition or outstanding performance, and personnel needs.

Qualifications
This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements. Substitution of combination of education and experience must still, in conjunction, minimally satisfy the DHA qualification requirement.
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-06: Specialized experience is defined as: assisting in the review of work for technical adequacy and compliance with established policies and procedures; processing a wide variety of pay debt audits; assisting in debt calculations; examining and verifying all documents for propriety, completeness and accuracy; and running reports to help monitor workload.
GS-07: Specialized experience is defined as: experience reviewing work for technical adequacy and compliance with established policies and procedures; processing a wide variety of complex pay debt audits; determining debt calculations; examining and verifying all documents for propriety, completeness and accuracy; and running reports to monitor workload and providing technical support on standard procedures to coworkers.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
