This position is located in Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate, Fraud Detection and National Security Division, District 23, FDNS Tampa FL, Orlando FL. As an Supervisory Immigration Officer, you will identify fraud, trends and patterns through complex analyses and investigation and carry out policies and procedures governing the execution of immigration programs.

Duties

Serve as the FDNS Supervisor for FDNS personnel at a Regional, District, or Field Office. Direct FDNS personnel in the conduct of inquiries (system checks, interviews, and site visits) to validate/invalidate suspicions of individuals and organizations filing for immigration benefits under application and petition types processed by USCIS. Direct personnel in the conduct of systemic comprehensive reviews to determine fraud levels and vulnerabilities in the adjudications process, as well as addressing national security and public safety concerns. Coordinate efforts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel and function as their local office's primary liaison with other local and regional, state, and federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies and task forces. Perform the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised, establish guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, and prepare plans, reports and analyses of the office's FDNS unit.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/14/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/14/2024. GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Providing technical and administrative guidance to a staff of officers engaged in programs administering the Immigration and Nationality Act (such as Adjudications, Inspections, Investigations, and Port-of-Entry or Border Protection). Overseeing the daily operations of goals, objectives and employees involved in fraud detection and national security. Establishing and maintaining liaison with management and government officials. Analyzing issues and implementing projects related to the establishment of program goals and objectives. Establishing long-range work plans and determining the actions necessary to accomplish those objectives. Education

EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at this grade level.

Training: If you have not already done so, you will be required to attend the residential, paid FDNS Officer Basic Training course. Additionally, if you have not already done so, you may be required to attend the residential, paid USCIS BASIC Officer training program, lasting six weeks, at a USCIS training facility. Both trainings must be successfully completed according to the standards of the agency. Failure to do so will be grounds for mandatory removal from the position. Such failure will result in either reassignment to a different position, demotion or separation by appropriate procedures. The selectee will also be required to attend and pass a supervisory training course as required by the agency (if not previously attended). Failure to attend or pass the supervisory course will be grounds for mandatory removal from the position.
