About the Position: Serves as one of the Program Managers within Civil Works Branch of the Seattle District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the programs and project management activities related to execution of the District's various Civil Works Programs, ensuring consistency and continuity. Provides a central point of contact on assigned phases of the projects.
Duties
Provide leadership, direction, and execution of the programs and project management activities for the District's various Civil Works Programs.
Ensure consistency and continuity of program and project management over assigned programs within the District.
Manage projects that are highly visible with multiple complexities of technical issues, political interests, public impact, and environmental sensitivity.
Manage project activities which are spread throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
Be the central point of contact on assigned phases of projects and represent the District at meetings, briefings, conferences, hearings (etc.) on matters related to proposed or approved projects.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) performing work as a project manager, program manager and/or technical lead responsible for oversight and technical work supporting activities directly related to Civil Works water resource programs and operations in one of the following areas: flood risk reduction, power production, environmental infrastructure or ecosystem restoration; AND (2) applying knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to achieve program/project goals, e.g. completing quality projects safely, on time, and within budget; AND (3) leading multi-disciplinary teams or supervising subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
