About the Position: This interdisciplinary position is located at the U.S. Army Operational Test Command, Air and Missile Defense Test Directorate (AMDTD), with a duty location of Fort Bliss, Texas. (merit) The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command has various incentives that may be available for highly qualified candidates. These include Relocation Incentives and Permanent Change of Station Allowance.

Duties

Serves in the areas of requirement development, standardization, design, data collection, data reduction, data analysis, test technology, and reporting for operational tests or experiments using scientific methods. Provides expert judgment concerning the validity of assumptions and the criteria by which the chosen alternatives will be evaluated. Responsible for the thoroughness of the study, appropriateness of data collection methodology, and the significance of findings.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Test and Evaluation Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position is subject to a Temporary Duty or business travel requirement of 40% or less of the time.
  • A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.

At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Basic Education Requirement for Computer Scientist - 1550 series: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in computer science or bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. In addition to meeting one of the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) 1) Performing requirement development, standardization, design, data collection, data reduction, data analysis, test technology, and/or reporting for operational tests or experiments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required specialized experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using specialized experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
