About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Duties

Plan, coordinate, supervise, and perform Contracting Officer’s Representative oversight over all activities associated with Transportation Motor Pool operations, personnel, supplies, and equipment for supported organizations and units. Approve the terms and conditions of transportation and maintenance contracts/agreements to ensure contractor and government performance are in compliance. Direct the Vehicle Operations and Contract Maintenance Branch staff in performing quality assurance evaluations, including monitoring and reporting of contractor performance for transportation and maintenance related contracted services. Formulate policies, analyze, and recommend new methods of application or changes to existing policies; and develop transportation operations principles, concepts, techniques, and procedures and participate in related studies. Implement transportation management and functional system operating standards for the command to ensure maximum utilization of resources and compliance with higher headquarters policies and directives. Plan and assign work to subordinates determining work schedules and priorities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
