About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Maintenance Division, at Presidio of Monterey, California.
Duties
Oversee a wide range of maintenance services to include maintenance management, service contracts, repair parts management, and production control services associated with the service and repair of equipment.
Manage the Installation Materiel Maintenance Program and provide oversight and coordination of the installation maintenance mission, to include tenant activities and other geographical areas of support.
Serve as policy advisor to the Logistics Readiness Center Director and Garrison Commander on the evaluation of the effectiveness of the maintenance program.
Coordinate highly complex requirement issues to ensure that supported units are operationally ready and mission capable.
Develop and evaluate policies and procedures governing the maintenance, inspection, repair, modification, and testing of equipment assigned to supported units.
Serve as the Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise contract Maintenance Quality Assurance Evaluator.
Monitor contractor business performance with regard to the installation maintenance mission in accordance with contract Performance Work Statement and Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan.
Provide statements of contractor non-compliance, evaluations, and performance ratings to the Contracting Officer Representative.
Perform duties as the Collateral Duty Safety Officer; and administer an Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliant Voluntary Protection Program Star program.
Oversee and participate in maintenance discipline evaluations, inspections, and visits to serviced customers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position will require the incumbent to work occasional evening, weekend and/or holiday hours, to include mandatory overtime as mission dictates.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain certification in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 511 course within one year of entry into the position.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Overseeing logistical maintenance functions such as maintenance management, repair parts management, or production control; 2) Developing procedures governing the maintenance, inspection, repair, modification, or testing of equipment; 3) Assisting in monitoring contractor performance; and 4) Providing guidance on maintenance or material readiness issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
