This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is located at the Reynolds Army Health Clinic (RAHC), Soldier Medicine Ambulance Section, Fort Sill, OK.
Duties
Evaluate patient's condition to properly stabilize for treatment.
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation on patients through various techniques such as, intravenous (IV) insertion, intubation and drug administration.
Evaluate patient's condition to properly stabilize for treatment.
Determine advance medical implications of wounds to treat appropriately.
Determine proper method to stabilize patients with physical injuries, such as, fractures, dislocations and sprains.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required
- This position requires a Childcare National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (CNACI) background investigation and has periodic re-verification requirements.
- This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- All Health Care Providers must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- This position requires the selectee to pass a pre-employment physical. Position requires lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position requires that you possess a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic ((NREMT-P) certification (attach a copy of your certification).
- Must be able to obtain an Oklahoma state issued Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) certification within 30 days of start date
- Must possess Current Advanced Life Support(AHA or ARC) and Pediatric Advanced Life support card (AHA or ARC) (attach a copy of your certification).
- Position requires employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing.
- This position requires the incumbent to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and/or 12-hour shifts.
- This is an Inclement Weather Essential position; you must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- This position is subject to Prime Source Verification (PSV).

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Responding to accidents or emergencies involving injuries and/or illnesses; conducting examinations to obtain patient vital signs; initiating intravenous (IV) therapy; and/or operating a patient transport vehicle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
