Duties

You will read drawings or circuit diagrams to locate defects in utility systems. You will install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, and manually operated components and equipment associated with the operation of utility systems. You will maintain daily logs to track utility systems testing results. You will operate computer programs (e.g., System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to monitor the runtime, total current, and total voltage of wells, and equalizer tanks. You will collect daily samples for analysis to facilitate an organization's ability to obtain annual recertifications. You will perform emergency procedures to resolve trouble or malfunctions as indicated by meters. You will inspect control gauges, valves, timers, or switches to verify the operation of components. You will read and interpret meters, gauges, and recording instruments used in water treatment, waste water recycling, and boiler systems to respond to emergency calls.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an Utility Systems Operator without more than normal supervision performing the following: 1) Must possess knowledge how to prepare and paint automotive and heavy construction equipment. 2) Must possess knowledge regarding mixes, thins, blends, matches, tints and tones to include CARC paints, Low-VOC polyurethanes requiring ctalyst, urethanes, accelerators etc. 3) Must know how to apply various paints to prepped surfaces with various methods including HVLP paint guns. 4) Must know how to perform body work, conduct repair to various surfaces to include metal surfaces with DA sander, air file, needle gun etc. 5) Ability to paint insignias, markings, or other identifications and applies decals.
