About the Position: This position is located at Irwin Army Community Hospital, Fort Riley, Kansas.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
Duties
Contact suppliers and manufacturers to discuss provisions of supplies or services, price discounts, delivery provisions, item availability, or short deadlines.
Review specifications submitted by users for clarity and completeness.
Perform equipment identification, location functions, and accuracy of equipment records utilizing hand held scanner, Real Time Location System (RTLS) and queries through property accounting systems.
Obtain facts and circumstances containing loss or damage to property and prepares Inventory Adjustment Reports, Statement of Charges, or Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss documents.
Ensure required documents, sales slips, and/or delivery tickets are legible accurate, complete, and are on-hand for reconciliation with statement of account.
Operate a variety of motor vehicles weighing less than 26,000 pounds on and off the installation ranging from sedans to five-ton cargo type trucks.
Obtain medical/dental materiel, equipment, and services from commercial sources.
Research mandatory sources, Prime Vendor (PVM), and Electronic Catalog (ECAT) for requested items and, if found, orders through the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system from mandatory source.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees may be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting inventory on supplies; monitoring the purchase of supplies or equipment; providing technical support duties related to maintaining property accounts and/or records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Chain Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
