This position is a Administrative Assistant, GS- 0303-6/7 working in Chittenden, Vermont for the R5-Dwight D Eisenhower National Fish Hatchery.
Duties
This position is located at Dwight D. Eisenhower National Fish Hatchery adjacent to the Green Mountains in North Chittenden, Vermont. The hatchery primarily produced landlocked Atlantic salmon to support important fisheries restoration programs in Lake Champlain. The hatchery also produces and distributes brook trout and lake trout throughout Vermont in partnership with the State of Vermont. While the duty station is located in North Chittenden, this position will also provide administrative assistance to White River National Fish Hatchery, which is also located in Bethel Vermont.
As an Administrative Assistant your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Record and track financial data to facilitate sound budget management, reconcile accounts, and provide accounting reports.
Assist with the management of fleet and real and physical property assets.
Assist with procurement processes to acquire contractual work, supplies and equipment consistent with budget fidelity, legal standards and agency policy.
Develop and maintain office records, administrative, and personnel files according to established policy including appropriate security and disposition for such records & files
Communicate effectively to accomplish diverse tasks related to operation of the office.

In order to qualify for this position you must possess Minimum Qualification.
Minimum Qualification [GS-6]:Possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-5 grade level in the federal service performing work in or directly related to providing administrative support. Specialized experience may include: (1) using word processing and spreadsheet software to create documents and spreadsheets; (2) assisting with procurement of services and supplies; (3) assisting with preparation of travel vouchers; (4) serving as a timekeeper using an automated timekeeping system; (5) preparing forms, documents, and correspondence; and/or (6) tracking expenditures for the preparation of budgets.
Minimum Qualification [GS-7]:Possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-6 grade level in the federal service performing work in or directly related to providing administrative support. Specialized experience may include: (1) using word processing and spreadsheet software to create documents and spreadsheets; (2) purchasing supplies and equipment; (3) preparing and reviewing travel vouchers, and advising on travel regulations and procedures; (4) performing budget-related duties including tracking budget and financial data; and/or (5) preparing and reviewing correspondence or reports including ensuring adherence to prescribed formats, proper grammar and spelling.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically,
i. Area of Consideration.
ii. Time-in-grade (TIG) requirements as specified in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.
iii. Time after competitive appointment as specified in 5 CFR 330.502.
