You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Transaction Service Center of TSC NORFOLK.
Duties
You will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist in the Administrative Department at Transaction Service Center Norfolk.
You will help the Command Security Manager develop, direct and manage Information and Personnel Security Programs.
You will monitor command policies and procedures for access to restricted, limited or controlled areas.
You will process requests for Personnel Security Investigations (PSIs) and performs substantive reviews of security clearance applications.
You will ensure the maintenance of hardcopy and electronic security files and records.
You will render adjudicative determinations as to personnel suitability for employment and/or continued employment as a federal employee or contractor.
You will render adjudicative determinations as to personnel eligibility to occupy a national security position and eligibility for access to classified information
You will provide leadership/technical oversight of personnel involved in the proper handling, safeguarding, accounting, marking, and destruction of classified material.
You will evaluate background investigations, security eligibility, and initiate periodic reviews for personnel transferred from other activities.
You will ensure completion of processing, tracking and documentation of completed background investigations for active duty, civilian and contract employees.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the 06-grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with multiple aspects of established security programs; 2) Understanding with security issues, questions and concerns from management and recommending solutions to ensure regulatory compliance; 3) Assisting in the maintenance of the INFOSEC and OPSEC program; and 4) Applying security principles, concepts and methodologies in carrying out assignments.
