About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Logistics Management Office (LMO). This position is being filled as a General Supply Specialist DJ-2 (GS 5-10).

Duties

Serves as the Property Book Officer (PBO) Assistant in support of the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). Assists with the life cycle management program of all property under ERDC’s ownership or control. Maintains accountability of the property book consisting of Government-owned equipment. Directly assists with authorizing, requisitioning and disposable of accountable records Utilizes knowledge of established supply systems.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level, which includes: Maintaining data in an automated property management system, Resolving inventory discrepancies and Performing supply management, cataloging, maintenance and disposal procedures. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DJ-01 (GS-04). OR Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AccountabilityClericalPlanning and EvaluatingPreparation and Negotiation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04). This announcement MAY be used to fill like vacancies for six months after the closing date. All qualification requirements, including time after competitive appointment, must be met within 30 days of closing date of this announcement.
