There is an anticipated vacancy for an attorney to serve as a Counsel to the Commander, Naval Education and training Command (NETC), Located aboard Naval air Station Pensacola (NAS), Pensacola, Florida. This position reports to the Office of the Assistant General Counsel ( Manpower and Reserve Affairs) (AGC(M&RA)). The Office of AGC (M&RA) is under the general supervision and coordination of the Department of the Navy Office of the General counsel (OGC). The position is telework-eligible, with the extent of telework subject to DON OGC and NETC policy. This is not a remote work position.

The NETC Office of Counsel currently employs five attorneys and one paralegal specialist. The office has a varied workload covering nearly the full range of OGC's proactive, with emphasis on civilian personnel/labor law, acquisition law, ethics and standards of conduct, fiscal law, intellectual property law, as well as litigation. The NETC Counsel also supervises the work of OGC attorneys assigned to Navy Recruiting Command, Navy Service Training Command and Naval Civil Engineering Officer School.
This position will be filled under the General Schedule (GS) at the GS 15 level. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have as minimum of five and on half years fo recent an d relevant professional legal experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position
The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen, must have graduated from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, Be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. common wealth U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia, be admitted to practice before a state or federal court, and be eligible to obtain an maintain a Secret level security clearance.
