You will serve as an Security Specialist at the GG-12 grade level and coordinates, or performs complex functions and tasks involving the development, evaluation, implementation, or execution of security programs with the objective of detecting and preventing security problems which might endanger the activity or service, its sensitive operations, or its classified information.
Duties
You will evaluate and respond to requests for program information and processes individual Controlled Access Program (CAP) access requests.
You will provide support during security inspection preparation, execution and remediation actions.
You will review verbal and written reports concerning violations of rules and makes recommendations concerning corrective measures
You will review, evaluate, and adjudicate reports of investigations, personnel files, and other records to advise on granting, denying, revoking, suspending, or restricting access to CAP material.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
- This position may be subject to polygraph examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as:
Develop local policy in response to higher level guidance and provide expert security guidance and recommendations to leadership and customers.
Formulate and implement emergency procedures and ensures emergency actions are integrated into emergency action plans.
Develop and evaluate current and proposed security protection systems to ensure that information, equipment, facilities, and personnel are protected against possible compromise, sabotage, theft, or terrorism.
