This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS).
The primary purpose of this position is to prevent, protect, respond to and recover from terrorism, criminal acts, and other hazards threatening the U.S. Government.

Duties
As a Regional Training Program Manager, GS-1801-13, your typical work assignments may include:
Evaluates educational materials and specialized criteria, new or modified training requirements and proposed regulations or agency guidance for projected impact upon current FPS programs, services and resources.
Develops, manages, and implements control systems for the formalized training programs that are designed to track the progress of individual employees.
Managing the region's implementation and training management of FPS National Training Programs.
Applying range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve program effectiveness and training management objectives and integral client satisfaction issues.

Requirements

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 if outside the Federal service experience: Experience using a variety of statistical methods and automated information systems to review specific training goals and objectives; Developing and managing, or modifying assigned program guidelines, policies and both short and long-range plans and program goals which apply to employees, contractors and/or training operations; Determining objectives, goals and implementation of federal regional training programs operating levels and identifies actions needed to accomplish specific goals.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
