The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional and scientific expertise in performance of work requiring knowledge and application of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or other scientific principles, methods, and techniques.
Duties
Duty 1.Determine the best and most efficient ways to implement data engineering standards, requirements, and specifications on data and analytics projects in support of the 688 CW mission.
Duty 2.Examines data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of providing security and privacy insight.
Duty 3.Build reports and data visualizations, using data from data warehouses and other sources.
Duty 4. Provide support for wing assessments, AI/ML efforts, process improvements, collaborations with outside agencies, and support data driven decision making.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP).

- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

Qualifications
This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
Basic Requirements:
Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
or
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
POSITIVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: This position has a positive education requirement. If transcripts are not provided, your resume MUST list the appropriate academic field (e.g. biology, mechanical engineering, economics, sociology, etc.) and all courses you have taken (including those failed), which appear to satisfy the qualification requirements of the position for which you are applying. Specialized Experience:
Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of methods, techniques, and processes in conducting queries and developing algorithms to analyze data structure; identifying hidden patterns or relationships; knowledge of how to automate development, testing, security, and deployment of AI/machine learning-enabled software to the DoD.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of data administration and data standardization policies and standards.
2. Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
3. Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses, cybersecurity principles, cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
4. Skill in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, R, Python).
5. Skill in communicating with all levels of the organization, including senior/mid-level executives, and operational-level personnel (e.g., interpersonal skills, approachability, effective listening skills, appropriate use of style and language for the audience).
6. Skill in developing or recommending analytic approaches or solutions to problems and situations for which information is incomplete or for which no precedent exists.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
