About the Position: Serves as Executive Support Specialist to the D,CoS for Personnel, Log and Eng (DCS G-1/4/9) at HQ TRADOC. Serves as a catalyst for coordinating administrative programs, areas of concern and operational issues with and between TRADOC DCSs and organizational activities, operating officials at HQDA level, other ACOMs HQ, installations, and the staff. This position is the organization's principal for the management of all correspondence and actions for DCS G-1/4/9 approval.

Duties

As an Executive Support Specialist, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Manage workflow and overall quality and efficiency of day-to-day staff operations. Oversee the administrative management program. Receives and reviews all correspondence sent through the administrative management office and performs extensive coordination with the appropriate staff or operating official for tasking them and establishing suspenses. Responsible for alerting Director on emergency and important matters. Research available background data, tasks subordinate staff as deemed necessary, assembles requested information, or follows up to see that subordinate offices submit required answers within the specified timeframe. Provides administrative support to the DCS G-1/4/9 including receiving telephone calls and visitors, screening those that can be handled personally. Maintains the DCS G-1/4/9 calendar of official and social engagements, ensuring that supervisor and staff are fully briefed on matters to be considered before the scheduled meeting. Provides input to the TRADOC Long Range Calendar. Orchestrates the DCS G-1/4/9 portion of the Orientation Program for senior officials at HQ TRADOC and the Schools/Centers.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY), up to 5% of the time.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Management or Business. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementClericalOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
