Duties
Receives items to be stored either loose in tugs, boxed or palletized.
Verifies stock destination, NSN, quantity, and cube against storage documentation.
Determines proper storage and safe storage practices for all items contained within the warehouse.
Establishes a storage location and determines proper space utilization based on the total project.
Makes determination based on quantity of items on hand and projected items anticipated for that project.
Completes and maintains logs of newly assigned locations and any changes on a project location board.
Reports overs, unders and condition code discrepancies to supervisor and requests replacement item from the appropriate main storage locations.
Processes and independently completes storage and shipping documentation insuring correctness of quantities, identification criteria and labeling.
Operates one or more types of material handling equipment such as standard type forklift with a lifting capacity of up to 20,000 pounds, warehouse tractor, stock selector, or general-purpose vehicle.
Assures all packing and disassembly documents are present and accurately completed and signed.
Ensures that proper stock number, nomenclature, expiration date, OCN numbers, end item number, etc., are applied to a container in a neat and legible manner.

- This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA Distribution Susquehanna in New Cumberland, PA.
Qualifications
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.
The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is:
I perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision such as: receives and verifies materials; loads and unloads materials, and reviews receipt documentation for items received.

Physical Effort
Work requires standing on hard surfaces maintaining balance for extended periods of time. Requires bending, stooping, reaching and twisting in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds, may lift greater weights with assistance.
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a warehousing environment. Work may be performed inside or outside in areas that are hot, cold or damp. May be exposed to dusty, dirty or greasy conditions. Individual is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions and broken bones from falls or falling items. Duties may require the wearing of safety clothing or protective devices.
