About the Position: The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers is comprised of motivated and talented employees providing the very best engineering services for communities in the Pacific Northwest. The District helps manage local water resources for navigation, flood damage reduction, disaster assistance, hydroelectric power generation, and other natural and heritage areas.
Duties
Serve as Administrative Services Assistant in the Engineering and Construction Division supporting multiple supervisors and employees.
Proficiently use a wide variety of software tools to include: electronic financial management systems, electronic personnel systems, and financial management reports.
Competently use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint), and SharePoint.
Maintain suspense records on assigned tasks and follow through to ensure suspense dates are met.
Review correspondence and reports for format, punctuation, typographical errors, grammatical accuracy, and conformance to regulations.
Prepare and review travel orders/ vouchers and complete purchases in an electronic financial management system.
Prepare time and attendance records using an automated system to ensure staff members are paid properly.
Prepare data summaries, charts, and graphs to interpret and communicate information.
Track expenditures to ensure they do not exceed authorized budget.
Requirements

GS-6 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) using office automation software; (2) preparing, editing, and formatting correspondence, documents, and/or reports; AND (3) reviewing budgets and/or funding information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05 or above).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
